The FEDE focuses on European values in its diplomas and certificates. Several objectives: participate in the development of a culture of living together, strengthen the feeling of belonging to a European citizenship, disseminate and scrutinise the values and principles on which Europe is based, propose conceptual and technical tools for thinking and acting as citizens. Thus, the Certificate of European Culture and Citizenship provides real tools for understanding the functioning and organisation of the European institutions and for developing skills linked to a culture of democracy, in particular the promotion of human rights, cultural openness, and the capacity for analysis and critical understanding of the world.

The certificate also proposes to understand the political, social and economic context of Europe to enable and encourage the development of economic activity within European countries. The training first provides a base of knowledge in European history, geopolitics and European law, through modules dealing with issues related to the history of ideas and religions, popular, scientific and legal cultures, international geopolitics and European identity.

The Certificate then proposes keys to understand European projects thought on a multinational scale and to grasp the ideological conceptions that aim at the constitution of a European citizenship. Concretely, it is also a question of tackling strong themes that animate the democratic life of European states, such as the problem of corruption and its legal framework in the framework of a module built in partnership with the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).
